Wow this is cool. very long and I am not quite sure what the beginning
bit (or the end) is about but a very nice psycological horror. Is that
Pinhead from Hellraiser in this short?

Hi there,
Thanks for watching ON EDGE & thanks for your kind comments!
Yes, that is indeed Doug "Pinhead" Bradley - fantastic isn't he? I worked with Doug again recently on a new short called "Red Lines" and i love seeing him being truly scary without heaps of latex on his face and pins in his head.
The club scene framing device at the beginning and end shows Dr Matthews in a fetish club "researching his next project" - we shot this footage at the Slimelight Club in London and to be honest, probably works better on the big screen!
All the best,
Frazer Lee

Good to see our olf pinheaded friend back in a new role, and yes, without
the makeup he still carries a lot of 'menace' - the potential of unspeakably
vile acts being carried out never seems that far away, and this film doesn't
disappoint in that respect. In summary, agreat short that stands well
by itself. Lovely work!

"You're a sick twisted molester." Liked the fetish club framing.
I liked how suspense is created through the patient's point of view. Charley
Boorman, (Mr. Thurlow,) does a great job convincing the audience of his
pain and fear. Doug Bradley, (Dr. Matthews,) does an excellent job intimidating
the audience, which I think is fully demonstrated in the "tooth squeeze"
scene. Gurgle gurgle, drill drill. -Nice gory detail.

Briliant. Every aspect. I hate to leave a short review, but everything
I would have to talk about would be all positive. The dialogue was the
best, it maintained suspense, without being Tarantino-ized in any way,
shape or form. Again- brilliant.

Wow - praise indeed from true horror fans.
Thank you very much indeed!
DWB - glad you enjoyed the dialogue. Most of it is from Christopher Fowler's excellent short story - the rest is from my damaged brain :p
My new film "Red Lines" is an attempt to rely less on dialogue. The next one (in development) "URbrain" will have no dialogue at all!

Really well done! Good lighting, very well written, and superbly acted.
Of course we've all seen Marathon Man, and this easily could have fell
into that cliche, but it wasn't, it was it's own piece, and that's where
the writing comes in, and the acting. Great job there. It's a tad long,
but that may just be my opinion. All in all, very good job. Keep up the
good work.

Well thanks a fucking bunch. I have never had the problem of being scared
of going to the dentist. UNTIL NOW. So I guess it really served its purpose.
EXCELLENT. What a great monologue aswell.
I would have cut your throat if you didnt show his art :) But dont worry I would have used the most advanced technology.
To begin with when he started to explain his motive it lost it a little for me. Mainly because I started to think the character maybe borderline between knowing his reality and not. But after about 10 - 20 secs the script seemed to let the problem slide and I got straight back into it.
Why does my tooth suddenly hurt. And well done on making one cringe at all the right moments.
